We provide written mock tests in English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning for the following entrance exams:
7 plus 8 plus 9 plus
10 plus 11 plus 13 plus
Mock Exam Structure
Our mock exams are carried out under real exam conditions and meet the requirements for both grammar and private school entry. They cover most of the topics and techniques likely to be examined. Mock tests help familiarise your child with the 11 Plus exam setting – helping to reduce stress and anxiety. Feedback via email will be sent to parents 5-10 working days later with total score, percentile score, percentile ranking, topics of improvement and suggestions of improvement.
Our mock exams follow the same structure as 11 Plus, 7 Plus or 8 Plus tests. The table below displays our mock test lengths and fees.
|SUBJECT||LENGTH OF TEST||FEES|
|Verbal Reasoning||60 Minutes||£40|
|Non Verbal Reasoning||60 Minutes||£40|
|Interview Practice||15 Minutes||£30|
Note: A maximum of three papers can be taken in one day.
The mock exams are available to all children, not just those already enrolled in our weekly classes (although they get priority booking). There are multiple mock exams per year held in Sloane Square and Dulwich. See below for dates:
Mock Test Dates
UPDATE: TBC – due to the Covid-19 situation, we have suspended mock test sessions until further notice.
In the event of quarantine or restricted movement:
Our mock tests will be posted to your house for your child to complete at home. Children must then complete mock tests in exam settings: no assistance and under timed conditions. To obtain feedback, you will then scan/take photos of each page and email this over to us for review. Once received, we will take 3-10 working days to write a mock test report to you detailing the: total score, percentile score, percentile ranking, topics of improvement and suggestions of improvement.
Mock Test Fees
Each mock test costs £40 per subject hence £80 for two subjects. Additional interview practice costs £30 and will be completed once both mock tests are finished. However, due to time constraints and in order to provide the most beneficial experience for the students, we limit the amount of subjects to a maximum of three on the day (interviews not included). So any three subjects plus an interview can be taken at one of our mock test days.
To secure your space this needs to be paid before the mock test date. This kind of exam practice is highly recommended because using this ‘teach and test’ approach enables the children to familiarise themselves with the methods, techniques and timing requirements for each subject. This has a huge impact on confidence, dealing with exam stress and working efficiently within a set time-frame. Parents also receive a feedback report within 10 days of the child sitting the test, allowing for reflection and review. All materials will be provided on the day. Just like the real exam, there is a 10-15 minutes break between each paper. Places on these tests are strictly limited and we would encourage early booking to avoid disappointment.
