An inspiring and enjoyable 4 day course designed to build confidence and knowledge in the imperative subjects needed to pass the 8+ exams: Mathematics, creative writing, comprehension and reasoning. Unlike previous courses, this course aims to connect children’s understanding in Maths and English to Reasoning as well as focus on the exam techniques needed to boost scores in exams.
The 8 Plus Easter Course is a focused and engaging 4-day intensive programme designed to support children preparing for the 8+ entrance exams. The course develops confidence, understanding and exam readiness across the key assessed areas: maths, creative writing, comprehension, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.
A key aim of the course is to strengthen the links between maths and English skills and their application to verbal and non-verbal reasoning. This joined-up approach helps pupils apply what they know more effectively across different question types. Alongside subject teaching, children are guided through essential exam techniques to help them work accurately and efficiently under timed conditions.
This course is suitable for Year 2 pupils preparing for independent school 8+ entrance exams in London and the surrounding areas. Over the past 12 years, we have successfully supported over 900 children in their entrance exam preparation, including pupils applying to schools such as Westminster and King’s College School, among many others.
The 8 Plus Easter Course is a four-day intensive programme running from 10:00am to 3:30pm each day. The course is overseen by our experienced course managers, who collectively bring over 20 years of entrance exam preparation experience.
The structure of the week is carefully planned to maximise progress:
Lessons are delivered in small groups, capped at a 6:1 pupil-to-tutor ratio. Our Easter 8+ courses usually average only 4–5 children per group, ensuring a calm learning environment with plenty of individual support. All lesson materials are included, including classwork, homework, assessments, mock exam papers and access to online practice questions.
Mock exams takes place during the course, allowing tutors to identify each child’s strengths and areas for improvement. This helps us group pupils appropriately and adapt teaching throughout the week, ensuring every child is both supported and challenged.
Following the course, parents receive a detailed written report within 10 working days, including honest feedback, clear areas for improvement and practical next-step recommendations.

The 8 Plus Easter Course is designed for Year 2 (going into year 3 in September) students preparing for 8+ independent school entrance exams, as well as Year 2 students gearing up for 9+/10+/11+ independent and grammar school exams.
