What are the 1 Day 9+ Summer Crash Courses?
Boost your child’s test scores and confidence in each area of their exams, with our collection of 1 Day intensive courses! Our crash courses are perfect for children who may not be in London for the entire Summer holiday but would like the flexibility to receive the benefits of in-person intensive tuition and get away from online screen-focused lessons.
With 4 hours of lessons each day, your child will focus on all areas of a specific topic to understand how to improve to gain those crucial marks to stand out and beat the competition. Course topics include: maths revision, comprehension, creative writing, grammar and vocabulary, non-verbal reasoning, verbal reasoning, spatial reasoning and logic.
Our courses are ideal for children competing in both online and written papers, and are suitable for any school exam style including: ISEB, GL, CEM, ATOM, Durham, independent school tests and grammar school tests.
Held at our convenient Central London location, (Victoria), children benefit from responsive face-to-face teaching in small groups of just 3-6 tutors. What courses are available?
The courses available for booking are:
9th July (Maths revision 1) : This short course will cover the complex relationship of fractions, decimals, percentages and it will review the four operations in arithmetic. Revising and extending their knowledge, children will learn the quickest methods for popular question types including short form, long form and worded questions.
16th July (Maths revision 2): This course tackles the popular 9+ topics: shapes and geometry. Your child will reinforce their current understanding, develop their techniques answering the different question types and explore the most efficient methods to answer the word problems.
23rd July (Comprehension): Covering different question types commonly found in reading and comprehension papers including retrieval and inference, children are taught to boost their scores in both multiple choice tests and written papers – making this an ideal course for any school exam preparation.
30th July (Creative writing): Children are taught to write a high quality piece showcasing their individuality with memorable tricks to boost their score for the 10+ creative writing test.
6th August (Non-verbal reasoning and spatial reasoning): A crash course in all of the non verbal reasoning question types. Tips and tricks are shared and common spatial reasoning questions are studied.
13th August (Verbal reasoning and logic): Covering all of the verbal reasoning question types and logic questions commonly found in ISEB, GL, CEM, ATOM and independent school papers.
20th August (Vocabulary and grammar): Spelling, punctuation, grammar and vocabulary are candidates’ common difficulties. This course teaches children the most popular rules for all 4 in just 4 hours.
27th August (Maths problem solving): A course ideal for children who need revision and assistance in tackling tricky word problems found at the end of test papers. This course is particularly useful for children trying for competitive independent and grammar schools.
An assessment will be given either the end of each course to test children’s retention for the day. In addition, a personalised and detailed report of the day’s findings with honest recommendations and advice will be emailed to parents/guardians.
