A graduate in Economics from a London university, Jane’s journey in education began with her expertise in mathematics. She designed a comprehensive maths syllabus, courses, and mock exams that have empowered students to develop strong problem-solving skills and achieve outstanding results. Her passion soon expanded into English tuition, ensuring students receive a rigorous and well-rounded learning experience.

With over 15 years of experience, Jane has played a pivotal role in shaping specialist tuition services. She has established six tuition centres, refined exam strategies, and adapted methods to meet the evolving demands of competitive entrance exams. Under her expert guidance, 11 Plus London now supports over 100 students annually across 7+ to GCSE levels. Harry is the Academic Development Manager and Lead Tutor at 11 Plus London, bringing  over 14 years of tutoring experience to his role. A highly sought-after specialist in English, Verbal Reasoning, and interview preparation, Harry’s engaging and personable approach—infused with humour and enthusiasm—makes learning both enjoyable and effective, inspiring even the most hesitant students to develop a passion for learning.

Educated in the UK and a graduate of Manchester University, Harry has an in-depth understanding of the 7+, 8+, 10+, 11+, and 13+ exam processes. As Academic Development Manager, he plays a key role in shaping our curriculum, having been instrumental in designing the English syllabus for our in-person courses. Beyond teaching, he develops mock exam papers and educational materials, refining exam strategies to ensure students are thoroughly prepared for their assessments.

With an impressive success rate of over 90%, Harry has helped his recent 11+ cohort secure places or interviews at their first-choice schools, including St Paul’s, Haberdashers’, North London Collegiate, and City of London. His expertise in interview coaching further enhances students’ confidence and readiness for the admissions process.

With over a decade of experience in education, Monique has been instrumental in guiding students aged 5 to 13 through the rigorous 7+, 8+, 9+, 10+, and 11+ entrance exams. Specialising in English for older students, she combines expert subject knowledge with a dynamic teaching style that fosters academic success, confidence, and resilience. Her ability to motivate and challenge students ensures they are fully prepared for entry into the UK’s most selective schools.

Monique’s experience spans private tuition and school settings, where she has led catch-up programmes in English and maths while also stretching high-achieving students with advanced topics. Her strategic yet supportive approach tailors lessons to each child’s needs, while her close work with parents ensures expert guidance on school selection, bursary applications, and exam strategies.

Beyond education, Monique’s background in midwifery has honed her communication skills, composure under pressure, and compassionate approach—making her an invaluable mentor to students and a reassuring guide for families. As a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and first aid-trained professional, she upholds the highest standards of student care while also training staff in safeguarding and well-being.

Having successfully guided her own children through the 11+ process, Monique blends professional expertise with personal insight, making her a trusted advisor for families navigating competitive school admissions.

Sheik is an experienced teacher and tutor, currently working as the Achievement Director of Maths in an Ofsted graded outstanding London school.  Sheik has taught students of varying abilities and learning needs and has helped them secure places in their desired schools for 10+, 11+, 13+, GCSE and A-levels. On average, Sheik’s students go from meeting to exceeding their predicted grades. His jovial personality, structured lessons and clear explanations are adored by students making him one of our most popular maths tutors.

Sheik attended 3 universities and obtained degrees in MEng, MBA and a PGCE. He initially started tutoring whilst at Queen Mary University by helping out students a year or more below him in their respective course. Loving the experience so much and knowing that he was helping shape the careers of his peers, he began to pursue tutoring more and more in his spare time. This eventually led him into professional teaching.

Depending on each individual, Sheik adapts his teaching style to reflect current research to ensure that his students are taught in a manner which suits their needs.  For example, Sheik focuses on High Intensity Retrieval as this has proven to be the most effective way for learning to be consolidated in the long term memory.

Sheik is also gifted in linking topics to the real world and using diagrams and visuals to captivate his students. Wherever possible, he uses storytelling techniques to make the content more digestible which helps to keep his students engaged.

Colby’s journey into education began after earning her law degree, when her passion for working with children led her to retrain as a Qualified Primary School Teacher at University College London in 2014. Since then, she has amassed extensive experience teaching and tutoring students across the primary age range, both locally and internationally. Her dedication to student success played a key role in her school achieving an OUTSTANDING Ofsted rating.

Currently based in Dubai, Colby teaches at a private school while continuing to expand her expertise. She holds a CELTA qualification, equipping her with the skills to teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to both children and adults, further enhancing her ability to support a diverse range of learners.
