What are the 10+ Maths Word Problems Course?
Our 1 Day 10+ Maths Word Problems Courses are designed to boost your child’s score in just four hours. These courses are ideal for children competing in both online and written papers, and are suitable for any school exam style including: ISEB, GL, CEM, ATOM, Durham, independent school tests and grammar school tests.
With 4 hours of lessons each day, your child will focus on all areas of a specific topic. They will learn how to gain those crucial marks to stand out and beat the competition.
Available online and face to face, children benefit from small group teaching from our highly experienced tutors with a 98% success rate in 9+, 10+ and 11+ exams. This ensures your child’s focus and understanding is maintained for maximum benefit throughout each course.
What courses are available?
Maths revision 1 (FDP and ratios) : This short course will cover the complex relationship of fractions, decimals, percentages and ratios, which your child will certainly encounter in their 10+ exam. Revising and extending their knowledge, children will leave the course with a stronger understanding of the subject. They will also gain confidence in tackling the variety of question types including short form, long form and worded questions.
Maths revision 2 (Algebra and shapes): This course tackles the popular 1+ topics: algebra, perimeter, area. Your child will reinforce their current understanding, develop their techniques answering the different question types and explore the most efficient methods to answer the word problems.
Maths problem solving: A course ideal for children who need revision and assistance in tackling tricky word problems found at the end of test papers. This course is particularly useful for children trying for competitive independent and grammar schools.
An assessment will be given either the end of each course to test children’s retention for the day. In addition, a personalised and detailed report of the day’s findings with honest recommendations and advice will be emailed to parents/guardians.
