The 5 Day 11+ May Half-Term Intensive Course is designed to identify and address any gaps in knowledge as pupils prepare for their upcoming 11 Plus entrance exams. Delivered over five days, children focus on key topics and common sticking points in Maths, English and Reasoning (both verbal and non-verbal).
By the end of the course, your child will have had the opportunity to develop greater familiarity with the demands of the 11 Plus and practise a range of question types used by exam boards such as ISEB, GL, CEM and ATOM.
At 11 Plus London, we recognise that every child learns differently. While the course follows a structured programme covering the most frequently examined areas, tutors also work closely with pupils on an individual level to assess strengths and areas for improvement. This allows teaching to be adapted where needed and provides valuable insight into each child’s progress.
Parents receive in-depth feedback on their child’s performance during the course, along with a tailored plan outlining clear next steps to help each pupil reach their full potential.
The May Half-Term Course takes place over 5 days, in line with the school holidays. This allows you to make the most of your child’s half-term break, giving them the opportunity to continue their learning in a way that is more suited to those planning to take their 11 plus examinations in the coming year.
The week is split between the three elements of the 11 Plus exams:
Maths: (operations, key topics, shapes, problem solving, puzzles/logic and statistics)
English: (creative writing, inference, spag, figurative language, creative comprehension/analysis and exam technique)
Reasoning:(question types and methods for verbal and non-verbal reasoning)
You can book the entire week or book full days focusing on Maths, English or Reasoning.
The lessons have been created by 11 Plus experts and taught by an experienced team of specialised tutors who have dedicated years to preparing students for their entrance examinations. Despite being an intensive week of learning, classes are taught in an enthusiastic and engaging manner. This allows your child’s half-term to be fun-filled yet challenging, allowing you to take full advantage of the school holiday. Lessons are conducted in small groups, with a maximum of six children per tutor. Most of our online courses have groups of just 2-3 children, ensuring personalised attention and focused learning. Coursebooks are included in the price and will be posted to parents prior to the course starting.
At the end of our May Half-Term Course, your child will complete a mock test for each subject. These will be marked in line with the standards of your prospective schools and a detailed report will be provided with our feedback at the end of the course. Parents often find this the most valuable aspect of our courses as it provides you with exceptional insight into your child’s performance and sticking points, as well as seeing how they progressed over the week’s lessons.
The 11 Plus May Half-Term Course is designed for children in Year 5. Whether your child has been preparing for the 11+ over a longer period or has only recently begun, the course is suitable for pupils at all stages of their entrance exam journey.
To ensure every child gains maximum benefit, pupils are grouped according to year group and ability. This course is particularly well suited to Year 5 students preparing for grammar school or independent school 11+ entrance exams.
