What is it?

What is the 5 Day 11+ October Course?

Our 5 Day 11+ October Course is designed to support children preparing for competitive school entrance exams by developing strong exam technique, confidence and subject knowledge. Delivered over one intensive week, pupils revisit key topics in a structured classroom setting, helping to consolidate learning and address any remaining gaps.

Throughout the course, children practise applying what they already know while being guided through more challenging questions and exam-style tasks. Teaching focuses on the areas most commonly assessed in 11+ entrance exams, including maths, creative writing, comprehension, creative comprehension, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, exam technique and interview preparation.

The course is suitable for pupils preparing for a wide range of exam boards and formats, including ISEB, GL, CEM, ATOM, school-written papers and other independent school entrance assessments. It provides a focused opportunity for pupils to refine technique, practise exam-style questions and approach the 11+ process with greater familiarity.

How is the course structured?

The 11+ October Half-Term Course runs over five days, from Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 3:30pm. The course is overseen by our experienced course managers, who collectively bring over 20 years of expertise in entrance exam preparation.

Class sizes are kept small, with a maximum 7:1 pupil-to-tutor ratio, ensuring focused teaching and individual support. All classwork, homework, mock exams, assessments and online practice materials are included as part of the course.

A mock exam takes place at both the beginning and end of the course. This allows us to identify each child’s strengths and areas for development, adapt teaching where needed, and group pupils appropriately throughout the week. After the course, parents receive a written report containing honest feedback and clear recommendations, keeping them fully informed of progress.

These intensive courses are perfect for making the most of your child’s October half-term. Despite the intensive tuition, the class environment and lesson structure is built to be fun and engaging. This means that your child will be happy to learn, and more often than not, leave with a smile on their face and some new friends.

Below are some example topics covered during the October half-term course:

  • Algebra (maths)
  • FDP and ratios(maths)
  • Word problems and puzzles (maths)
  • Picking vocabulary and its effects (creative writing and verbal reasoning)

Testimonials

“My child attended the October half term camp. This was probably the most valuable investment I made in my my child’s 11+ journey. The feedback report I received was far superior to any feedback that I received from any other source (including 1:1 tutors from another company) and helped me focus on the right areas to help my child with the 11+ exam.”

FAIZA (verified on Google)

“My children started attending since July last year and I cannot recommend enough. Within three months Jane prepared my daughter for St Pauls, Francis Holland and Henrietta Barnet Schools. I have taken both group face to face and individual classes.”

“My boy joined the week long course during half term in preparation for the 10+ exam and I couldn’t be happier. Very well organised, they prepared him for the specific school. I received detailed feedback, reports and all tests they did during the week. I wish I had found them earlier! All the tutors were very nice and my boy would come home with a smile each day. He found the experience of taking part in the mock tests invaluable.”

“I have known 11 plus London since 2019 (pre- pandemic). Jane and her team helped my son navigate the path to the 11plus exams. They worked on his weaknesse with a lot of patience. The team is very approachable, polite and honest especially Jane. My ds got into QE boys Barnet with a decent score. They have been helping my daughter for her exams in 2025 and are a big help in building her confidence. I would genuinely recommend the lessons”

AMIT (verified on Trustpilot)

“When we initially joined, we understood that our daughter needed to academically excel in order to be competitive for the 11+ exams so we joined these classes. From the very first week, my daughter came home intrigued, happy and keen to go back.
The classes are fun, well planned, engaging and buzzing with a can-do ambience.
The first week’s homework was somewhat daunting for me as the parent as I though oh there a lot here to do, how is this going to be possible, but my daughter enjoyed and relished the challenge which was a big surprise.
The journey hasn’t been an easy one as I’m sure any parent will tell you going through the 11+ process but what I can say to you is that these guys make it a whole lot easier, more relaxed and are always on hand to help. Whether that is you’ve got a question regarding the whole process of things or that the child isn’t quite getting the hand of the new work material they have just learnt, this is the place to be…”
