Our 5 Day 7 Plus Summer Intensive Course is designed to strengthen your child’s skills in the run-up to their 7 Plus entrance examinations. It is suitable both for children who have started preparation later and need focused coverage of key areas, and for those who have been preparing throughout the year and wish to refine their technique and improve exam performance.
Over the long summer break, it is common for academic progress to slow. This course helps children revisit the most frequently examined topics, address any remaining gaps in understanding, and consolidate previously learned material. Lessons focus on the four core elements of the 7 Plus admissions process: Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Interview Skills.
Throughout the week, tutors closely monitor each child’s progress and record detailed observations. Interview sessions prepare pupils for what to expect on the day, including how to approach more challenging questions and participate confidently in group interviews.
Lessons are delivered in small groups, capped at a 6:1 pupil-to-tutor ratio. Our Summer 7+ courses usually average only 4–5 children per group, ensuring a calm learning environment with plenty of individual support. Coursebooks and materials are provided for use during the week and returned to pupils at the end of the course, allowing them to revise content covered in class or practise areas identified as sticking points.
The 7 Plus Summer Intensive Course runs for five consecutive days (Monday to Friday), from 10:00am to 3:30pm. Lessons are interactive, supportive and engaging, delivered by our experienced team of specialist tutors who aim to keep children motivated and confident throughout the week.
The course concludes with a mock examination taken under timed conditions. This helps pupils become familiar with the format and expectations of their upcoming exams, while also giving us valuable insight into individual strengths and areas for development. Parents receive a detailed report within 10 working days to support next steps in preparation.

Children are welcome to attend for multiple weeks. For pupils continuing beyond the first week, we create a tailored programme and group them with other children who are also attending for additional weeks. Each week focuses on new content, so returning pupils continue to build on their skills and knowledge rather than repeating the same material.
The 7 Plus Summer Course is designed for Year 1 (going into year 2 in September) students preparing for 7+ independent school entrance exams, as well as Year 1 students gearing up for 8+/9+/11+ independent and grammar school exams. Whether your child has been preparing for years or is just starting their journey, this course welcomes all students, regardless of their current stage in the process.
