The 5 Day 10 Plus Summer Intensive Course is a focused, face-to-face programme designed to support pupils preparing for 10+ entrance exams for competitive independent schools. It suits children who have started preparation later and need to cover key areas quickly, as well as those who want to refine technique and strengthen performance over the summer.
Summer is a common time for learning to dip without structure. This course provides targeted tuition to revisit frequently tested topics, consolidate prior learning and address gaps. Teaching covers the four key elements of the 10 Plus admissions process: Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, alongside interview preparation for schools that include interviews.
Progress is monitored throughout the week, and tutors record detailed observations to inform feedback and next steps. Classes are kept small with a maximum 7:1 pupil-to-tutor ratio, ensuring focused support and high-quality teaching. Coursebooks and materials are provided during the week and returned to pupils at the end to support continued revision at home.
The 10 Plus Summer Intensive Course runs over five days (Monday to Friday), from 10:00am to 3:30pm each day. Lessons are delivered in small groups by experienced tutors and are designed to be interactive, supportive and exam-focused, keeping pupils engaged while developing key 10+ skills.
The course begins and ends with timed mock examinations, giving pupils valuable experience of 10 Plus exam formats and timing. These assessments allow tutors to identify individual strengths and areas for improvement, adapt teaching throughout the week, and provide detailed written feedback and guidance to parents after the course.

Children are welcome to attend for multiple weeks. For pupils continuing beyond the first week, we create a tailored programme and group them with other children who are also attending for additional weeks. Each week focuses on new content, so returning pupils continue to build on their skills and knowledge rather than repeating the same material.
The 10+ Summer Course is suitable for Year 4 pupils moving into Year 5 in September who are preparing for 10+ independent school entrance exams, as well as Year 4 children beginning preparation for 11+ independent or grammar school exams.
Whether your child has been preparing for some time or is just starting their entrance exam journey, the course is designed to support pupils at a range of stages and help them make meaningful progress.
